Background

Rossinver is a range of speciality foods created by Atlantic Organics Ltd. Our company was established by three leading Irish organic organisations: Leitrim Organic Farmers
Co-op, North West Organic and The Organic Centre in the village of Rossinver, County Leitrim, where the company is based. It has also been supported by the Western Development Commission.

We produce speciality artisan food products that are created using traditional, local skills, and we market them across Ireland and the UK. We are working to increase supply of organic food in the North West of Ireland and to secure fair and profitable deals for the organic farmers in our co-operatives. We hope that through the distinctive taste and character of our food, people from far and wide will recognise the border region of North West Ireland as being an area of excellence for high quality organic food production.

What is Atlantic Organics Ltd?

Atlantic Organics Developments Ltd is the company behind the Rossinver food brand. During 2004-2007 it was part-financed by the European Union through the Interreg IIIA Programme, which is managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by the ICBAN Partnership.

Atlantic Organics has also been engaged in a range of activities to develop organic food production in Ireland, including organising major national events such as hosting the All-Ireland Organic Food Conference in November 2006, and co-organising the All-Ireland Farmers' Markets Conference in July 2007.

The three founding organisations behind Atlantic Organics (NWO, LOFC and The Organic Centre) continue to meet regularly to find ways to develop the organic food and farming sector in the North West of Ireland.
